If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. At least, that could have been the Duchess of Cambridge’s thought process given the negative reaction that last night’s gold silk Erdem gown received from royal watchers. Day Two of Royal Visit Sweden is already underway! Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, visited the Karolinksa Institute, Matteusskolan and NK, a department store. After the engagements, the couple had tea with Victoria and Daniel at Haga Palace, the couple’s home, before preparing for their evening event at Fotograsfiska Gallery.
After a whirlwind (and cold) introduction to Stockholm, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ended the first day of their Scandinavian tour at the British Ambassador’s residence for a dinner party. The residence is serving as home base for the couple during their stay, thus making tonight’s logistics straightforward. They were joined once more by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who are acting as the couple’s official hosts, as well as a few notable Swedish public figures, including actress Alicia Vikander.
After beginning their day on an ice rink, it was all faux fur and cobblestones for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they carried on in Stockholm with the Swedish Royal Family. The couple were met by Crown Princess Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel, as they moved to the Royal Palace for a luncheon and then two museum stops.
