Two quick items to cover on the Windsor front. The first is that the Queen’s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, was admitted to hospital today for a hip surgery expected to occur tomorrow. Prince Philip was absent from yesterday’s Easter service at Windsor and has reportedly pulled out of multiple (increasingly rare) public appearance with the Queen in recent weeks.
The Palace stated that this surgery has long been planned. The procedure is taking place in London at the Edward VII Hospital. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and he is back home as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted grocery shopping in Norfolk, where Anmer Hall is located, earlier today. It’s unclear how long the family is staying, or which members are there for matter. Yesterday, William and Kate were with the rest of the Royal Family at Windsor and it was reported that they spent the days leading up to the holiday with the Middleton family in Berkshire.
UPDATE: But twist, a tourist spotted the Cambridges unpacking at Windsor on Sunday. I saw these photos earlier today on Twitter, but didn’t originally see a date associated with them.
Now that we know they may have been at Windsor, it’s unclear what prompted tardiness yesterday, but regardless the timeline is unclear.
I think the real takeaway here is, yes, Prince George owns trousers.
Kate is wearing a peach Joseph coat in the photos that she’s worn in public before – most notably at the Cheltenham festival in 2013 while pregnant with George. You can view the rest of the images here.

It’s possible the family is enjoying some extended time outside of London with George and Princess Charlotte thanks to Easter break.
In 2015 Kate spent the vast majority of her maternity leave in Norfolk, however with both children attending school in London, it’s a safe bet that the Cambridges will remain based in London through the end of term. I would imagine that they’ll retreat to Anmer Hall come June, though.
