An Update on Princess Haya

We still don’t know a lot about what’s going on with Princess Haya, the ruler of Dubai’s wife, who reportedly fled the UAE for Europe, seeking asylum from both the UK and Germany. As far as we know, she’s still living in London with the couple’s two children, however in CNN’s write up posted on Thursday, they noted they were unable to confirm that.

Meghan Attends Wimbledon (+ More on the Christening)

The Duchess of Sussex celebrated Independence Day yesterday by attending Wimbledon to watch close friend Serena Williams take the court. Flanked by two friends from her university days, it marked the third time we’ve seen Meghan since she gave birth to Archie two months ago. As was noted at the time, she will continue to pop up now and again for specific engagements, and given her friendship with Williams, and the precedent set forth by the Duchess of Cambridge during her own maternity leaves, yesterday’s attendance makes sense.

Royal Roundup: Forfar, Holyrood Week & Wales

Kate Makes Her Debut at 2019 Wimbledon

Well-known tennis lover HRH The Duchess of Cambridge made her first appearance this year at Wimbledon. H/T to Gert’s Royals on Twitter who correctly guessed that Kate would turn up today when it wasn’t listed that the Duchess of Gloucester, president of the Lawn Tennis Association, would attend the LTA awards this afternoon.

What’s Going On With Princess Haya?

You may have missed this news last week, but Princess Haya bint Hussein has left her husband, Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, by fleeing the UAE and seeking asylum in Europe. It’s unclear when exactly she left the country, but news coverage took off this past Friday when the UK courts were petitioned to hear the case.

As of right now, Haya and her two children are reportedly living in London, while Germany, which she initially petitioned for asylum, has approved her application in principle.

Kate Debuts Her Garden at Hampton Court Palace (+ the Pakistan Trip)

The Duchess of Cambridge popped up at Hampton Court Palace this afternoon to help debut her garden at its new location after a successful stint at the Chelsea Flower Show. She invited four children representing four of her patronages for a treasure hunt, walk, and picnic in the garden.
