Today is the Prince of Wales’s birthday, marking 70 years since he made his debut at Buckingham Palace just 11 months after his parents’ famous post-war wedding. By the age four he would become the heir to the throne, by 11 he would be created Prince of Wales, by 21 he would be invested with the title and before he turned 30 he would found the Prince’s Trust, a charitable organization that grew from strength to strength and is still flourishing.

Mention of Camilla as Future “Princess Consort” Removed from Couple’s Website

Clarence House overhauled the official website for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, and in doing so removed all reference to Camilla becoming known as the “Princess Consort” once Charles ascends the throne. This particular style of address was first announced back in 2005 when the couple married, by way of a concession to their unpopularity in light of all things “Diana.” As such, Camilla is known as the Duchess of Cornwall instead of the Princess of Wales, a title still closely associated with Diana.

It’s Official: Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Engaged [UPDATED]

The tweet we’ve all been waiting for finally arrived: Clarence House posted at 10 am GMT that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged to be married. According to the statement, the couple became engaged earlier in November in London and a wedding is planned for Spring 2018. As of right now, they are both living in Nottingham Cottage in KP.

William & the Press: A Bad Romance

It’s become part of Prince William’s narrative that he hates the press. Now, William has never publicly said, “I hate the press,” so this is not a statement of fact. It is, however, a fairly safe assumption based on, you know, his behavior and that of his office. But from where does it stem?

The obvious answer, of course, is the death of his mother in 1997 and the role that paparazzi are believed to have played in that fatal car accident. Then there is the blatant intrusion that they have caused in his life – speculating about his parents’ marriage in the ’90s, his and his brother’s antics throughout their respective teens and 20s and his own relationship with Kate Middleton.
