Louis is Ready for His Close-Up [UPDATED]

Louis

Following up on the four photos released from Prince Louis’s christening last night, Kensington Palace tweeted out a fifth image this morning. This one features the infant prince with his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, in the gardens of Clarence House.

It’s anyone’s guess as to who they’re looking at, but my money is on the Duke or a goofing off Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

I’ve no idea why they decided to hold this photo for another 12 hours, but hey, why not? Now I’m wondering if another shot of just George, or George and one of his parents, will be released next weekend to mark his birthday or if they’ll go with an image from another set. We shall see.

Update: Apparently this photo was taken by a different photographer than Matt Holyoak, who handled the official pictures released yesterday. Photographer Matt Porteous was asked to take additional private family photos at Clarence House last week and my guess is that after reviewing them, this one was deemed appropriate for release. Following up with an “extra” photo was a method also used by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with their engagement photos, so this was probably planned.
