Kate is Back to Form for Dinner with Norwegian Royals [UPDATED]

You have to admit, it would have been a little funny if the Duchess of Cambridge had busted out a third floral Erdem tonight. But no, she returned to form in a flowing pink Alexander McQueen gown and statement jewelry that screamed “Princess.” Perhaps she sensed in the universe that Meghan Markle would be making her own rebel fashion play…

It’s a Winter Wonderland as William & Kate Touch Down in Oslo

It’s almost surprising we made it this far in the Scandinavian tour without a snowstorm disrupting the itinerary, but it finally happened. Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s final engagement in Stockholm at the Uppsala Airbase was canceled due to the weather. Instead, William and Kate flew straight to Oslo to begin the next leg of their tour after receiving a briefing on the Swedish Armed Forces’ operational capabilities.

The Cambridges’ Last Night in Stockholm Sees Kate in Blue Velvet

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. At least, that could have been the Duchess of Cambridge’s thought process given the negative reaction that last night’s gold silk Erdem gown received from royal watchers. (Personally, though, I was on board, albeit hesitantly). Regardless, the bags were already packed and the next gown on the docket was yet another floral Erdem, this one boasting blue velvet, bell sleeves and a high neckline.

Day Two of Royal Visit Sweden is already underway! Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, visited the Karolinksa Institute, Matteusskolan and NK, a department store. After the engagements, the couple had tea with Victoria and Daniel at Haga Palace, the couple’s home, before preparing for their evening event at Fotograsfiska Gallery.

Kate Chooses a Daring Erdem for Stockholm Dinner Party

After a whirlwind (and cold) introduction to Stockholm, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ended the first day of their Scandinavian tour at the British Ambassador’s residence for a dinner party. The residence is serving as home base for the couple during their stay, thus making tonight’s logistics straightforward. They were joined once more by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who are acting as the couple’s official hosts, as well as a few notable Swedish public figures, including actress Alicia Vikander.

William & Kate (Appropriately) Kick Off Royal Visit Sweden on the Ice

Royal Tour of Sweden officially kicked off today, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carrying out a number of engagements in Stockholm. We’ve been hearing about this tour for months now, from the initial press release back in August that introduced an undefined tour to the delay thanks to Kate’s pregnancy to the final announcement, so it’s hard to believe it’s finally upon us.

William Tours Finland Solo for Its Centenary

The Duke of Cambridge wrapped up a two-day jaunt to Finland today, carrying out the leg of a previously-scheduled Scandinavian tour that was mostly postponed due to the Duchess’s pregnancy. Finland, however, stayed on William’s calendar due to the country’s ongoing centenary celebrations, while Sweden and Norway were pushed until early next year.

Charles & Camilla Do Malaysia

I have to say, the photos from the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in Malaysia might be some of the best tour photos I’ve ever seen. Everything is just perfect – the colors, scenery, fashion and even some monkeys. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might need to step up their tour game – this is the threshold I now want cleared when they visit Norway and Sweden next year.

Day Two of Harry in Denmark

And so it is done. Prince Harry wrapped up his second day in Denmark today and returned (ostensibly) to the UK. This morning kicked off with a visit to a bakery where Harry met with volunteers of the mental health organization “One of Us.” He spoke about the dangers of constant social media use, noting:

“People are spending far too much time online and it’s like a mental running machine that they can’t get off. You wouldn’t put your body through such a workout. I’m the last person to say ban it but people are suffering from mental fatigue and getting burnt out. We all need to talk to each other more.”

Now, all of that is fair, but what it really does is beg the question, what is Harry doing on social media? We know he uses Instagram, and we know that he used to have Facebook at one point, but what else is he up to? Your guess is as good as mine.

Day One of Harry in Denmark (+ a Little Bit About Meghan)

Prince Harry arrived in Denmark today for the first of his two-day visit to the country, carrying out a slew of engagements in Copenhagen. This mini-tour is seen as yet another stop of the Brexit “Charm Offensive” in which members of the British Royal Family are turning up in various European countries to ensure the seamless continuity of friendly diplomatic relationships.
