Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are officially married! The Royal Family – and a slew of high-profile British guests – turned up in their wedding best for a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor this morning. So, the big news from the weekend is that plans are already in the works for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to take over a larger apartment in Kensington Palace. As you may recall, around the time their engagement was announced last November, it was stated that the couple would remain at their current residence, Nottingham Cottage, for the time being. And so they will, but plans are reportedly underway for them to take over Apartment 1 within Kensington Palace, placing them next door to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Harry & Meghan Give Their Engagement Interview [UPDATED]
Well, that was illuminating. I’m dashing down some first thoughts now, having just watched what aired live, but I’ll fill this post out later in the day and add more images as they become available. It was particularly fascinating to watch this, I think, given that I had just re-watched the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement interview from back in 2010. Camelot & the Virginity of Katherine of Aragon
Between Henry VII ascending the throne in 1485 and his death in 1509, England evolved from a country that had been in or on the verge of civil war for decades to a country that was beginning to re-emerge as an actual power broker in Europe. It’s an interesting concept to consider in the wake of all the Brexit news as members of today’s Royal Family undertake diplomatic tours of European countries to underline Britain’s continued friendship.
By establishing the House of Tudor, Henry essentially put an end to the viability of continued Plantagenet infighting. As the last Lancastrian claimant (sort of, his lineage wasn’t much to boast of) he strategically married Elizabeth of York, fusing the two warring houses in one union. Thus, their children were meant to appease both sides, and their position was bolstered by a father who ruthlessly kept the peace, filled the coffers and eliminated dynastic threats.

Style Transformation Part One: From Kate Middleton to Duchess of Cambridge (2002 – 2011)
One thing that should really be appreciated about the Duchess of Cambridge is that she’s been in the public consciousness since she was 20 years old and, 15 years later, she’s remarkably light on having put a foot wrong. All things considered, she’s been discreet, good-natured and respectful of not only William, but his family and her own. To be honest, of all of her traits, that’s the one I find the most impressive. I cannot emphasize enough how glad I am that there’s not an extensive digital footprint of my own college or early 20s phase (untagged Facebook photos aside).
