The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in New Zealand yesterday amidst plenty of fanfare. The next three days mark the last of their Oceania tour, after which they will return home to the UK and, hopefully, a well-deserved break.
But first, they had to formally leave Australia. Meghan chose a burgundy BOSS by Hugo Boss dress with a mock turtleneck and a tie sash belt, which she paired with Aquazzura heels, a Cuyana handbag and a pair of beautiful earrings by Paspaley Lavalier.
After a quick change of clothes mid-flight, the couple landed in Wellington in the middle of an – apparent – windstorm. Meghan wore a black Asos maternity dress under a plaid Karen Walker trench with Sarah Flint heels and Birks earrings.
The wind was so intense, Meghan had to grab the hem of her dress at one point, and as pictures show, quickly buttoned up her trench coat.
It remained closed for a formal welcome ceremony on the lawns of Government House, where the Sussexes will stay during their stay in the country.
Video shared of the ceremony:
From there, the two went on to the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park and laid a wreath to honor fallen soldiers.
In the evening they attended a reception and met with the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, but we’ll save that for another post.
