The Prince of Wales hosted today’s garden party at Buckingham Palace on the Queen’s behalf, with the Duchess of Cornwall and the Princess Royal by his side. These gatherings have been held at the Palace every spring since the reign of Queen Victoria, while there’s a corresponding party at Holyroodhouse when the Queen’s in Scotland in July.

The Cambridges Visit Archie
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly went out to Windsor yesterday afternoon after they and the Duke of Sussex wrapped up the day’s engagements, according to multiple outlets. Their children didn’t join them, though a few articles note that they plan to introduce them to Archie when he’s a little older. The visit apparently lasted over an hour.
Kate Visits Bletchley Park
Before we get into today’s engagement at Bletchley Park, let’s quickly catch up on the last couple of days. Royal reporters are saying that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were due to meet their new nephew “early this week.” Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who were traveling in Germany last week, are due to stop over at Frogmore Cottage later this week and meet the newest Windsor addition.
Royal Roundup: The Fab Four Launch New Textline, the Windsor Horse Trials & Royal Visit Germany
The Royal Foundation, led by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, launched a new 24/7 textline to support people in crisis. The service, Give Us a Shout, was quietly rolled out earlier this year on a trial basis and has reportedly already served 60,000 people. It’s also based on volunteers, of which it has amassed 1,000, with William calling for another 3,000 in the video share by the organization this morning.
Meanwhile in Wales…
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were showing off their new son at Windsor Castle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carried out engagements in North Wales focused on community service and environmental protection.
Meet Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor [Updated]

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their new son to the world a few hours ago, turning up for a photo call and brief interview in St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. William & Kate Launch The King’s Cup Regatta (+ a Quick Roundup of Everyone Else)
Twenty-four hours later after the birth of Baby Boy Sussex and the House of Windsor was back at it. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today carried out an engagement in London (that I completely forgot about, tbh) to launch The King’s Cup Regatta, while the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Berlin and the Duke of Edinburgh made a rare appearance alongside the Queen.

A Royal Birth & the Media
Slightly off-topic, granted, but I think the rest of today is going to be mainly speculation as we wait to learn Baby Boy Sussex’s name and for the release of official photos. As such, I thought I would share a little bit about what is going on with reporter chatter online surrounding the birth announcement, as well as some interesting takeaways from an article I stumbled across interviewing Miguel Head, the former chief of staff for the Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex.
Baby Boy Sussex is Here! [Updated-3]
It’s a boy! The Palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex has been safely delivered of a son, following an earlier announcement that she went into labor early this morning with the Duke by her side. The baby weighs 7 lbs 3 oz, and per the statement from Buckingham Palace, the Sussexes are home at Frogmore Cottage with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
A Duke, a Duchess & a Marchioness
First of all, the above photo is EPIC considering it’s nearly three years old.
Anyway, as I noted in the first of what has been a million posts I’ve written today, I have been keeping up with royal news despite my (work-induced) sabbatical. As such, I watched the reporting of the Duke of Cambridge’s rumored affair play out in real time, of which I’m glad because the timing of how this unfolded is key.
